Description

• Responsible for collecting ground truth on Linux, Mac, and Windows devices • Working on Kolide’s agent (written in Go) or osquery (written in Objective C and C++) • Involves researching native APIs or reverse engineering private APIs • Ensuring agents are good citizens on devices and easy to install/manage • Projects include automating OS package generation, improving reliability of auto updates, and creating libraries for data conversion

Requirements

• Device Agent Engineers with at least 2 years of general software development or SRE experience • Writing code primarily in Go, with basic proficiency required • Experience in C++ and Ruby is a plus • Familiarity with osquery is a plus • Naturally curious and relentless in finding answers • Experience using or administrating macOS, Windows, and Linux-based operating systems • Specialist in at least one operating system (Windows is a plus) • Familiarity with SQL, understanding concepts like CTEs, casting, and aggregations • Good writer who can write prose with empathy for less technical people
