Description
• Key member of the team responsible for executing federal and state income tax compliance for 15,000+ funds launched on the AngelList platform • Check automated work, prepare/review manual work, resolve exceptions, and address investor questions • Help Belltower scale through product and process design from a tax perspective • Analyze transactions with tax reporting implications, respond to investor inquiries, drive automated preparation of tax compliance forms, participate in product testing for new products supporting tax and other functional teams, and identify opportunities to improve the tax department's efficiency and service offerings
Requirements
• 2-4 years of tax experience working in the broader asset management sector • Focused experience in the venture capital or private equity space • Experience with preparing and reviewing federal partnership returns and reviewing partnership agreements • Ability to effectively communicate with investors and portfolio companies at high volume and with polished professionalism • Experience identifying compliance obligations related to foreign investments, state income tax returns, and foreign investor reporting obligations • Experience with process improvement and automation • CPA or EA, or CPA/EA eligible
