• responsible for overall costing function. • developing and maintaining standard costs, analyzing variances, performing routine and ad hoc reconciliations, and performing month-end and quarter-end close for cost accounting. • Ensures that costs for the company's products and services are allocated according to corporate procedures and in compliance with financial accounting standards. • Oversees cost control systems and prepares cost accounting reports for presentation to management. • Overall responsibility for accounting for inventory and worldwide cost of goods sold inclusive of developing and maintaining costing methods and KPIs for inventory management and reporting back on KPIs to management. • Develop analytics and reporting to provide insights on inventory and cost of goods sold activity on a quarterly basis. • Maintain and improve processes to critically analyze excess and obsolete inventory reserves and document significant assumptions. • Develop a deep understanding of manufacturing agreements and minimum purchase obligations (MPO). Prepare footnote disclosures for inventory and MPOs. • Collaborate with global Supply Chain teams, as well as contract manufacturing organizations, to maintain and improve processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting of inventory data. • Perform month-end and quarter-end close procedures including preparation and/or review of journal entries, reconciliation and analyses related to inventory and cost of goods sold, as well as inventory valuation, balances, adjustments and reserves. • Analyze and collect data to determine costs of commercial and clinical inventory such as raw materials, direct costs and overhead. • Develop and maintain standard cost on a global basis for any new materials and annually in a timely manner and ensure costs properly reflected in ERP system. • Prepare and verify product costs in support of all cost-based pricing contracts, inter-company transfer pricing and shipping valuations. • Partner with FP&A and Tech Ops departments on budgeting and forecasting of WW COGS and inventory. • Assist manufacturing with periodic physical inventory counts and investigate variances and resolve issues. • Responsible for worldwide inventory accounting inclusive of inventory reserves, inventory capitalization, intercompany profit elimination, and management of inventory related controls. • Support and ensure compliance with GAAP and related SOX controls and procedures including developing and updating policies and procedures to enhance efficiency. • Responsible for internal and external audit requirements related to inventory as needed. • Collaborate with IT team on continued system improvements and enhancements.

Requirements

• BS, Accounting or Finance. Master’s in Accounting, CPA, CMA and/or MBA is a plus. • 10+ years focused cost accounting experience is required with at least 3+ years in a cost accounting leadership role with direct reports. • Experience with a commercial stage biotech or pharmaceutical company is required. • Extensive experience working in ERP systems to support cost accounting, preferably SAP S/4 HANA. • Strong experience with transfer pricing arrangements and global movement of inventory is preferred. • Experience with VAT and customs / shipping valuations is a plus. • Strong technical skills including knowledge of GAAP and understanding of financial statement mechanics and working knowledge of cGMP and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX). • Strong Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) skills. • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing; ability to clearly explain costing information to a variety of audiences. • Strong analytical skills and ability to understand impact across the business. • Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail. • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with the ability to think strategically. • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment. • Strong sense of ownership and independence, able to work with limited hands-on supervision while maintaining meticulous attention to detail. • Demonstrate strong working relationships cross-functionally and throughout the organization at all levels. • Demonstrate ability to work independently and collaborate to resolve issues. • Willingness to assume additional responsibility and learn new skills. • Proactive in streamlining processes and tasks. • Demonstrate ability to coach and foster direct reports.
