Description
• Position Overview: As a Controller at AVL you will provide work that directly impacts clients’ goals • Managing and reporting on the technical accounting systems to bring efficiency and visibility to operations • Providing qualitative and quantitative review of current financials on a monthly basis • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement packages • Maintaining, reviewing, and reporting on cash forecasts • Advising on and ensuring compliance with tax, audit, legal, and financial regulations • Overseeing operational execution and accuracy of invoicing and collections • Maintaining a system of internal controls over accounting transactions
Requirements
• A minimum of 10 years of total financial / accounting / business experience • 8 years with accounting systems and accounting policies/procedures • At least 6 years at the Controller level in a progressive accounting environment • Demonstrated experience in industries such as consumer packaged goods, Tech, SaaS, Services • BA/BS in Accounting or Business degree with an emphasis in Accounting • CPA (active or inactive) • A master of Excel • Outstanding communication and management skills • Working knowledge of Quickbooks, Bill.com, and/or other ERP systems • Demonstrated working knowledge of IT systems and tools to benefit accounting operations • Knowledge of inventory, Trade / Deductions, EComm Systems, Amazon, Shopify, Stripe • Strong communication and high emotional intelligence • Resourcefulness and willingness to learn • Comfortable working both independently and with a team • Adaptable to change and comfortable with ambiguity • Strong business acumen and can understand the big picture
