• Research, recommend, and implement technology strategies to increase the quality and reliability of Business Wire applications, employee productivity, and operational efficiency. • Recruit, mentor, and motivate a high-performance IT operations staff. • Develop and execute a modern roadmap for cloud native, in-house developed, and SaaS solutions. • Full responsibility for all IT infrastructure and operations. • Oversee the administration of the corporate compute services to include cloud, SD-WAN, virtual compute, storage, backups, disaster recovery, and local area networks. • Maintain and enhance corporate telecommunications strategies (e.g. unified communications platforms). • Manage Network Operations, System Engineering, SRE, and Database Administration groups utilizing Agile methodology. • Drive the Change Management and Root Cause Analysis processes to ensure stability and continuing improvement in uptime. • Develop, manage, and report on infrastructure and operational SLAs. • Develop and implement a comprehensive SRE strategy to ensure systems/applications are highly available and reliable with minimal downtime or disruption to business operations. • Identify and mitigate potential risks that could negatively impact system reliability and availability. This includes identifying potential failure points and developing contingency plans to minimize downtime.

Requirements

• 10+ years of IT experience with a minimum of 3-5 years in a senior management role. • 5+ years of experience managing global 24x7 hybrid cloud environments, cloud migration, and the modernization of legacy applications. • 5+ years of experience in SRE or similar roles with a strong emphasis on root cause analysis, observability, and problem management. • Expert understanding of and previous hands-on experience with data center, virtualization, IaC, infrastructure, back office, and engineering technologies. • Experience in CI and CD (GitOps Framework), DevSecOps automation and test automation with a drive for continual learning. • Proven ability to work effectively with customers, contractors, and vendors. • Strong interpersonal, verbal, written, and technical skills to lead the day-to-day activities of the team and build strong relationships with the extended organization. • Ability to manage multiple projects to completion. • Ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently within a fast-paced environment.
