• Assist with reducing pretrial case delays and improving efficiency in criminal cases • Engage with stakeholders to identify and propose solutions for delays in case resolution • Advise court staff and assist in operationalizing case processing initiatives • Develop a program to review individuals in custody for jail alternatives • Liaise with legal system stakeholders, agencies, and organizations for policy and operational reforms • Evaluate project initiatives with researchers • Prepare written materials and publications • Expand the Center's work on policy issues through grant proposals and activities • Perform additional relevant tasks as needed
• J.D. and minimum 4 years of criminal law experience in New York City • Working knowledge of NYC criminal justice policy landscape and relevant stakeholders • Experience collaborating with multiple criminal justice agencies • Strong writing and analytical skills • Intergovernmental affairs and/or policy experience preferred
