Description

• Responsible for growing the game of hockey throughout the tri-state area • Maintain the programs gold standard while providing top level instruction • Responsible for kids ages 4-14 at any one time while ensuring the safety of each individual • Keep all NYR branding and promotional materials current through the entire season • Structure and execute on-ice lesson plan in conjunction with USA Hockey’s American Development Model • Build relationships with NYR Rink Partner’s key contacts • Provide direction and oversight to the assistant instructors in cooperation with the on-site event manager

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a minimum of 5 years previous coaching or playing experience with strong knowledge of teaching the basics of hockey. • Must be enthusiastic and energetic while interacting with all peers, parents and participants • Strong communication skills and demonstrate a strong passion for teaching the game through prior work experience • Ability to command the attention and respect from both players and assistant instructors • Demonstrate the necessary skills to plan and execute a high-quality practice through previous work experience with a team, clinic or camp • Demonstrate the ability to meet overall goals for NYR grassroots programming through previous marketing or event experience. • Must be able to travel throughout the tri-state area and have their own transportation
