• Perform tasks requiring broad and/or deep knowledge in the field of heavy/highway civil construction and structural engineering • Perform structural analysis and design, including reinforced and pre-stressed concrete design, steel design, timber design, deep foundations, gravity-based foundations, earth retaining structures, crane pick plan/rigging, and bridge deck • Implement design and ensure conformance with all applicable codes, standards, and client requirements • Prepare and review calculations for analysis and prepare engineering reports, memoranda, and design submittals • Prepare working/draft construction drawings for AutoCAD drafter • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or similar from an accredited institution • 10 or more years of relevant experience, with bridge experience required • Master’s degree focused on structural engineering is preferred • PE license (NY or NJ) required, NY preferred • Proficient in using structural finite element analysis software tools such as MIDAS or RISA • Proficient working knowledge of Excel and Mathcad • Proficient working knowledge, understanding, and application of critical industry-accepted codes (IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC Steel Specification and Construction Manual, NDS, AREMA, AASHTO, and AWS) • Maintain membership in industry organizations (AISC, AWI, RCSC) and continued professional development for PE License • Ability to organize and handle multiple tasks • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Proven ability to be successful in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction • Experience working on projects in the NYC/Metropolitan area preferred
