Description

• Research, write and edit multiplatform content related to coverage of live sporting events. • Ensure we’re meeting content integration obligations related to partnerships. • Partner with Creative Development, Editorial, Sales and Marketing teams to execute new content experiences that drive subscriptions, engagement and revenue. • Collaborate with the newsroom and the rest of the business with a particular focus on long-term partnerships in the media/entertainment world. • Collaborate with our business development and sales teams on key revenue-driving initiatives that require editorial contributions. • Assist in communication between key editorial and HQ stakeholders to ensure alignment and coordination on key initiatives. • Liaise with the Analytics teams to help with planning and implementation of content strategy and to monitor success metrics. • Partner with newsroom leaders and commercial teams to own IP across various platforms and content types. • Communicate results to internal stakeholders.

Requirements

• 2+ years of editorial experience, ideally in sports environment. • Clean, skilled writing skills in long-, medium- and short-form formats. • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. • A hustle-first mentality — this business and industry move quickly. • Deep sports knowledge. • A passion and understanding of The Athletic, our talent and our content. • Thorough knowledge of the journalistic process. • Critical thinker who can provide productive input about content promotion, partnerships and product. • Operational experience an asset.
