Description

• You will report to a Director of Engineering at Unqork • You will set the Technical Standard. Your deep expertise will allow you to design and implement robust, scalable solutions. You establish best practices and guide teams to adopt them, ensuring high-quality code and architecture across projects. • You will lead by example. You are a hands-on leader who isn't afraid to jump into the thick of it, whether it's reviewing code, debugging issues, or optimizing performance. Your proactive approach will set the pace and tone for the entire engineering team. • Foster a supportive environment that gives your engineers space to make a difference • Help establish organizational metrics and roadmaps • Introduce and refine processes to improve the collaboration and productivity of your team • Partner with engineers, product managers, QA and Design to identify opportunities, and provide solutions that positively improve the end-user experience • Advocate for technical excellence and provide technical guidance on your team

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional backend engineering experience • Experience steering projects of increasing scope and complexity • Ability to set technical and cultural standards for engineers • Strong knowledge of shipping impactful and complex software projects • Proficient in data modeling, normalization, query and indexing strategies • Experience with NoSQL databases (we use Mongodb), REST and/or GraphQL • Experience with any mainstream backend language (NodeJS preferred) • Experience with various cloud storage providers and services is a bonus
