Description

• Manage the accounting department and ensure GAAP compliance • Generate financial reports, monthly, quarterly and year end closing and reconciliation responsibilities, GL balancing, audit preparation and completion, payroll management, support for tax and regulatory compliance as well as general departmental processes • Process payroll and related journal entries • Supervise billing, receivables, payables, cash receipts, cash disbursements, and general ledger functions • Work with service providers to prepare annual tax filings • Assist with annual budgeting, monthly variance reporting, and aspects of forecasting, as needed • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in accounting • Five+ years of experience in financial statement preparation, budgeting, payroll, purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable and inventory management • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent • Experience in both public and private corporate accounting environments • Experience with government and/or philanthropic grant accounting and reporting. At least 1 year is preferred. • Experience implementing technology solutions to enhance systems and processes • Excellent knowledge of GAAP, accounting policies and procedures • Ability to work independently, with little supervision • Ability to effectively direct and supervise accounting department staff • Ability to analyze financial data and to prepare accurate reports in a timely fashion • Deep experience with standard accounting software, including QuickBooks • Very strong Excel and spreadsheet skills

Requirements
