• Responsible for ensuring the safety and security of clients and property in a homeless shelter • Perform daily inspections of clients’ rooms • Escort clients to appointments as needed • Monitor client behavior and maintain good rapport • Control access at the entrance using screening tools • Perform crisis intervention and document situations • Make hourly rounds throughout the facility • Respond to incidents and assist with client intakes • Maintain logs and incident reports • Respond to emergencies and perform administrative duties
• High school diploma or GED required • Prior security experience required • NYS Security Guard License required • Current 8 Hour Annual Certificate required • Fire Guard License for Shelters required (F-02) • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Certified in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) preferred • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred • Must be able to work flexible shifts, weekends and overtime if necessary
