Description
• Support various mentoring initiatives • Provide direct client services in needs assessment and employment preparation • Conduct orientation sessions and coordinate referrals • Facilitate and instruct students in class and online • Provide job search and workplace communications training • Screen and match mentors/mentees • Case manage and monitor mentoring relationships • Develop and deliver mentoring training content • Refer participants to community resources • Monitor work experience placements • Provide individual employment counselling • Conduct participant evaluations and monitor progress • Liaise with community agencies • Document and monitor employment outcomes • Develop/update program curriculum
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree or Post Graduate Certificate in Counselling, or Social Services or a related program with 1-2 years of employment counselling experience • Proven experience working with Internationally Trained Individuals in the immigration, employment and/or settlement sectors • Knowledge of job search strategies and local labour market conditions for professionals in architecture • Strong organizational, oral and written communication skills • Proficient in Microsoft Office • Strong skills in online facilitation and service delivery • 1-2 years’ experience in mentoring programs; newcomer programs will be an asset • Able to work independently and engage in self-directed learning • Computer literate and ability to learn agency systems • A clear Police Vulnerable Sector check is required
