Description

• Negotiating, drafting and reviewing a wide range of commercial agreements and contracts for the company including but not limited to master services, licensing, vendor engagement, distribution, software/SaaS, technology platform arrangements, social media and marketing services, and other material agreements affecting the business • Develop and oversee data protection and privacy compliance program governing the collection and use of personal information • Assist internal teams to ensure that privacy legal requirements are incorporated into business processes and operations and contractual arrangements, including requirements under existing and forthcoming US State privacy laws • Advise on current and future privacy laws, regulatory guidance, enforcement actions, and other related issues as they apply to our business • Offer counsel on a variety of legal issues and on legal implications of all matters as needed to ensure company conducts its business in compliance with applicable laws and regulations • Research and anticipate legal issues that could impact the company • Provide training to the company on legal topics • Coordinate as necessary with corporate and global legal colleagues

Requirements

• Juris Doctor from a top ABA accredited law school • Licensed to practice law in one or more states, including admission to the New York state bar (either full or as in-house counsel) • 3-5 years of experience as an attorney at a law firm and/or in-house at mid-size company in commercial transactions, data privacy, direct-to-consumer, and e-commerce • Experience at consumer products/cosmetics company is a plus • Broad-based transactional experience supporting a consumer business, including drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements and developing and handling templates and playbooks • Experience advising on US privacy issues, including state comprehensive privacy laws (e.g., California Privacy Rights Act “CPRA”), including privacy related clauses in commercial agreements and data protection agreements • Knowledge of intellectual property and regulatory matters relating to cosmetics is a plus • Experience balancing multiple projects at the same time in a fast-paced environment with proven skills in prioritizing projects • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization • Highly motivated with a strong work ethic and an ability to function independently and collaboratively • Ability to contribute to discussions of general business issues
