Description

• The Senior Accountant will assist with making sure that records are up to date and correctly stated so as to provide various departments and managers with accurate data to help improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enable management to make informed decisions. • Prepare monthly bank account reconciliations for domestic and international entities and work with appropriate teams to resolve any discrepancies • Prepare and analyze monthly account reconciliations for various BS and PL expense accounts • Record monthly journal entries to assist in month-end close process • Fixed Assets register maintenance and reconciliation • Calculations and processing of payments to retired partners • Assistance with Federal/State/Local tax allocation and reconciliation processes • Maintaining all records pertaining to partner investments • Preparation of tax work papers for Director of Firm Taxation • Record and reconcile state sales and use tax filings on a quarterly/monthly basis • Update and manage daily cash reports to management • Liaise with Payroll department to assure proper posting of payroll journal entry • Assist with year-end audit requests and ad hoc projects as needed • Handling of Escrow transactions

Requirements

• 5-7 years in a Senior Accountant role - prior experience in legal industry is a plus • Bachelor’s degree in accounting • Demonstrates strong understanding of GAAP principles and accrual accounting • Superior communication skills needed, both written and verbal • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, work effectively in a team environment and meet deadlines • Analytical mindset and the ability to interpret data is a must • Must have strong attention to detail, organizational and reporting skills • Comfortable handling confidential information • Strong problem solving skills • Prior experience of Chrome River Expense/Invoice systems is a plus • Prior experience of Elite 3E • Prior experience of processing payroll is a plus • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot tables, V-look ups, Macros, etc.)

Benefits

• Salary Range: $105,000 - $120,000 USD • Depending on qualifications • Location: New York
