Description

• Girls Who Code is an international non-profit organization working to close the gender gap in technology • Leading the movement to inspire, educate, and equip young women with the skills to pursue careers in technology fields • Searching for a proven results-oriented leader to serve as the Director of Community Partnerships & Outreach to spearhead the strategic expansion of K-12 Programs • Responsible for developing and executing national Clubs expansion strategy and work plans • Leading the Community Partnerships & Outreach Team in developing multi-channel national initiatives and regional outreach strategies • Cultivating and managing a portfolio of high-profile national-level and international-level organizations to position Girls Who Code as a thought leader in the K-12 STEM landscape • Full-time permanent salaried position to start as soon as possible

Requirements

• 8+ years prior experience in recruitment, business development, partner management, or youth development • 6+ years in leading a performance-based and outcome-based recruitment team in a nonprofit or academic/school environment preferred • Experience in short-term and long-term project management for operationalized recruitment goals with the ability to fully develop complex projects, train others, and prove success • Excellent communication, presentation, and people skills with an ability to balance priorities, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders • Highly organized with an orientation towards customer service that prioritizes timely, clear, thoughtful, respectful responses to stakeholders from all backgrounds • Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic, and innovative environment; comfortable working effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines and goals; demonstrated experience leading multiple projects and balancing competing priorities • Successful track record in setting short-term and long-term priorities, shaping processes, and executing quickly and effectively • Data-driven: the ability to track outcomes through set goals • Nimble and malleable; team player who is open to feedback with a flexible, creative, and analytical approach to problem-solving • Experience in effective people management to drive motivation for high impact • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, maturity, positivity, and confidence • Commitment to Girls Who Code’s mission and to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and comfort working with people from all racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience • Experience with Salesforce (preferred) • Knowledge of and/or interest in computer science, technology, and/or education (preferred)

Benefits

• Develop and execute national Clubs expansion strategy and work plans including timeline, weekly targets, and workstream planning to reach annual goals for recruiting submitted Club applications (7,500 total submitted Club applications, 4,500 new submitted Club applications including 50% new 3-5th and 50% new 6-12th) aligned with organizational diversity and inclusion goals • Develop and execute national and international Summer Programs student recruitment strategy and work plans to reach goals for recruiting submitted Summer Immersion Program and Self-Paced Program applications (~15,000 applications annually) aligned with high-priority corporate partner markets and diversity and inclusion goals • Spearhead all high-level project management and staff training for strategic team-wide outreach initiatives, including but not limited to: goal setting and forecasting, data analysis and conversion tracking, Community Partner engagement and retention, lead prospecting and cultivation for a 120,000+ lead database, conference exhibitions and presentations, and multi-channel digital marketing strategies • Develop frameworks for building, assessing, and cultivating a robust pipeline of potential community partners through continuous lead research and persistent targeted email and phone outreach to contacts at high yield organizations, including school districts, departments of education, local STEM and education organizations, after school programs, and online networks • Lead the full team in developing outreach work plans for consistent lead generation and cultivation of potential individual host sites through research, cleaning, and maximizing usage of publicly available data • Develop a robust year-long events strategy for optimizing Girls Who Code’s participation as conference exhibitors and presenters to increase brand recognition and increase applications to our Summer Immersion Program, Self-Paced Program, and Clubs Program • Support the Manager of Outreach Communications & Events in driving all national multi-level digital marketing strategies • Support the Manager of Outreach Communications & Events in developing and designing persuasive written materials and digital assets for external communications and internal training purposes • Analyze program expansion outputs, progress, and outcomes leveraging Salesforce reports and dashboards to drive data-informed recommendations that ensure long-term effectiveness and organizational efficiency at scale • Identify key areas of growth for program expansion in relation to a deep understanding of pivots in the education and nonprofit landscape • Secure, cultivate, manage, and retain a portfolio of high-profile national-level and international-level Community Partnerships, including participating in national advisory councils and similar opportunities for thought leadership collaboration when possible • Represent Girls Who Code as a keynote and breakout speaker at targeted meetings, community events and conferences to position the organization as a thought leader in K-12 education • Deliver educational landscape expertise, reporting, and engagements for corporate partners and donors as needed • Direct a team of 6 full-time and 9 part-time team members based in the United States and temporary part-time consultants to drive targeted Clubs Program expansion and Summer Programs student recruitment • Recruit, hire, train, and provide ongoing development of all Outreach Team members as needed • Facilitate collaborative opportunities with the overall Community Partnerships & Outreach team to improve the efficiency of team’s systems, processes, and outreach strategies as programs continue to scale • Support Community Partnership & Outreach Managers and Senior Managers in their supervision of a team of Regional Partnership Coordinators and Specialists, ensuring high-quality interactions with community organizations, school partners, potential Club Facilitators, and students • Collaborate with the Senior Director of School and Community Programs on budgeting, strategic planning, and collaborative initiatives across the K-12 Team • Collaborate with senior leaders across Girls Who Code to lead the Strategic Plan Refresh and organization-wide initiatives as needed
