Description
• Lead the development and delivery of the technology roadmap that is capable of scale and supports the product and overall business strategy • Recruit, develop and retain top technical talent; define a world-class engineering culture of excellence, positivity, and high energy where engineers can do their best work • Be a champion of engineering and product excellence, establishing KPIs and processes for regular assessment and improvement for the engineering team and technology • Diving into code review when needed (but not coding yourself day-to-day) and contributing to the overall engineering organization from a player-coach perspective • Establish, execute, and achieve the company’s vision and scaling milestones in strategic alignment with business objectives, timeline, user experience, and revenue goals
Requirements
• A proven engineering leader with experience within ambiguous, high growth start-up environments • Exceptional technical capability, with deep knowledge of and experience with modern software development practices and technologies • Ability to make technical decisions with the lens of what is best for a fast-growing startup • Experienced in building complex technical solutions with deep knowledge of key architectural principles found in highly scalable systems • Experience building technical strategy and understand technical tradeoffs and risks • An outstanding builder of engineering teams, and a track record of hiring, retaining, and motivating top talent • Player-coach engineering leader with the ability to commit production code • Excellent communication skills and ability to create alignment with other leaders and decision-makers in a fast-moving environment • Tenure within a high-growth B2B SaaS business in a team-management position • Experience building high-functioning teams with a "roll up the sleeves" mentality • Experience collaborating closely with business leadership, product, and operations teams to hone product and approach to market • Modern coding philosophy, preferably with experience building in React (frontend), Laravel (backend), on AWS cloud services using PHP (language)
