Description

• Determine the acceptability, quality, and profitability of new and renewal business based on company underwriting guidelines and objectives within authority level • Manage assigned territory so that items such as new lines, renewals, endorsements, claim reviews, and related transactions are completed accurately within accepted corporate time frames • Participate in team meetings to assure an effective/cohesive unit as well as to discuss and act upon company strategies • Treat all inquiries on a professional basis, providing timely, courteous, and efficient customer service to Producers, team members, and other departments • Make recommendations to Underwriting Team Supervisor on selected risks beyond the assigned authority level • Collect, maintain, and review data to make informed underwriting decisions • Assist in resolving any coverage issues/questions, audits, endorsements, accounting, claims, or marketing issues as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred • Minimum of 3 years of underwriting experience • Ability to analyze and interpret underwriting documents and make sound, productive, and profitable decisions • Solid knowledge of insurance concepts and coverages • Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and collaborative team skills • Solid oral, written, and presentation communication skills • Solid organizational and time management skills
