Description

• Lead Counsel for business teams on product-development legal issues, from inception to product build and maintenance, including related commercial arrangements with suppliers and customers • Provide strategic advice regarding applicable state and federal laws with a focus on consumer finance and protection and related compliance, privacy, data use, and marketing requirements/laws • Monitor legal and regulatory developments in consumer finance and other relevant areas. Assist with the growth and maturation of our compliance and privacy programs. Lead the legal development and review of all associated consumer disclosures and related website and App materials • Oversee the design and implementation of legal policies, programs, and practices, ensuring the company activities comply with applicable laws and regulations • Support relationships with our critical partners. Provide legal advice on strategic commercial matters and prepare, review, and negotiate complex contracts, joint ventures, and customer/supplier agreements. Prepare and coordinate support and documentation for submissions, customer and vendor due diligence, audits, product registrations and certifications, licenses and renewals • Be a trusted advisor and teammate, sharing legal and other expertise and support when needed • Identify and evaluate business and legal risks with an eye toward creative problem-solving • Draft terms and conditions, cardholder agreements and other disclosures, and compliance-related policies, review copy

Requirements

• 5+ years of related financial services or fintech experience, preferably with a focus on US Consumer Payments Experience (prepaid, debit, credit, and ACH) • Experience with Reg E, consumer finance, privacy, AML, and related marketing laws preferred • JD from a highly reputable, ABA-accredited law school • Admitted to practice law and in good standing in at least one state bar/jurisdiction • A combination of firm and in-house experience is preferred • The ability and desire to develop expertise in new or unfamiliar areas of law • Strong communication skills, detail-oriented and exceptionally organized • Robust interpersonal and relationship-building skills • Strong organization and self-reliant technology skills • Ability to multi-task and manage various projects, meet deadlines, excel under pressure, and work independently • Must be authorized and permanently located in the United States
