Description
• Experienced Senior PostgreSQL/MySQL Database Administrator • Remote consulting assignments, health checks, tuning, assessments, troubleshooting, installations, migrations • Daily multitasking among multiple clients • Supporting PostgreSQL/MySQL/MariaDB in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) • Supporting PostgreSQL/MySQL/Aurora AWS RDS environments • Homogenous and Heterogenous Migrations to PostgreSQL • Production experience with Installation, Configuration, Upgrades, and Patches • Ad hoc Index Maintenance, User and Role Management, Performance tuning, query analyzation • Providing configuration, monitoring, and on-call support for development, test, and production environments • Troubleshooting technical issues and assisting clients with PostgreSQL/MySQL issues • Linux and Microsoft Windows experience required
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. (Preferred) • 3+ years of experience in a managed services environment • In-depth knowledge of PostgreSQL and MySQL architecture, configuration, and performance tuning • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl for automation tasks • Experience with database replication, clustering, and high availability solutions • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues efficiently • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment or independently • PostgreSQL, MySQL, and/or MongoDB certification is a plus
