Description
• Conduct data cleaning operations, data wrangling, and create visualizations for sports-related datasets. • Develop custom data models and algorithms, focusing on utilizing player statistics to simulate full-game NBA scenarios accurately. • Participate in selecting features, building classifiers, and optimizing them using various modeling techniques. • Design processes and tools for monitoring and analyzing model performance and data accuracy. • Contribute to research and innovation in sports data science initiatives.
Requirements
• Advanced knowledge of machine learning, data analysis, and statistical modeling, specifically with respect to professional sports, particularly NBA • Proficiency in statistics and statistical software applications, such as Python or R. • Practical experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL. • Experience with data visualization and report building is a plus. • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a related data science role, ideally within the professional sports industry. • Experience with player performance metrics, game outcome predictions, and in-game event modeling for NBA. • Familiarity with advanced sports statistics and analytics platforms used in professional basketball or football • Experience working with real-time sports data feeds and APIs. • Knowledge of sports betting concepts and daily fantasy sports a plus.
