Description

• Backend engineer role to build infrastructure for the core Sage platform • Work directly with engineering leaders to design and implement features • Impact the direction of the infrastructure as the company grows • Implement features for append-only data model • Design 3rd-party API and service for platform insights • Implement blue-green downtime-less upgrades • Implement ETL pipelines for sensor data insights • Headquarters located in New York City's Union Square • Encouraged cross-team collaboration and participation • Host offsites, outings, and team meals for connection • Allow up to 2 remote days per week • Expected annual salary range $150,000-170,000 USD

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of backend developer experience • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field • Experience with object-oriented programming • Ability to breakdown complex problems for technical and non-technical audiences • Experience leading software development projects and teams • Preferred: Experience with microservices in Java • Preferred: Experience with horizontally-scalable, highly-available distributed systems • Preferred: Experience with web frameworks like Dropwizard, Spring • Preferred: Experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL • Preferred: Experience with caching technologies such as Redis • Preferred: Familiarity with Docker containerization • Preferred: Familiarity with deploying platform architecture via AWS
