Description

• Build new security technologies to protect Wikipedia • Design and code new features to protect users • Work on MediaWiki platform focusing on security challenges • Help design and build MediaWiki security capabilities • Review and deploy security features • Work with development teams for safe architectural choices • Perform security maintenance and address technical debt • Provide support for application security incidents and operations

Requirements

• Strong software engineering experience with security focus • Ability to work with modern PHP code-base • Experience in developing client-side JavaScript • Strong interest in learning specialist security skills • Patience in explaining security implications • Sensitivity to security challenges in a large project • Experience with Linux command line for web development • Ability to maintain focus when working remotely • Experience with anti-abuse mechanisms • Previous experience in building security countermeasures • Experience in finding and fixing security bugs • Knowledge of threat modeling and secure design patterns
