Description

• Reporting to the Cash Manager, the Senior Accountant is responsible for daily cash operations and accurate and timely accounting for cash, investments, and loans for NYCEDC and affiliated entities. • The Senior Accountant prepares and enters journal entries and prepares supporting schedules as needed. • The Senior Accountant interacts with colleagues within the organization to understand transactions and ensure they are timely and accurately recorded. • The Senior Accountant builds strong work relationships with colleagues to facilitate the transfer of information and documentation needed for financial reporting and audit through collaboration and customer service in order to respond to inquiries from both internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting • 3 years of experience in Accounting • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) • Experience with Microsoft Great Plains, MRI, LoanPro, and Bloomberg is a plus • Strong foundational knowledge of US GAAP to ensure cash, investments, and loans are fairly recorded and presented • Self-starter with proven analytical and problem-solving skills • Demonstrated communication skills; communicating clearly, concisely, and professionally with internal and external stakeholders • Maintains the highest level of professionalism by upholding ethical standards and confidentiality consistent with the role • Must be a New York City resident within 180 days of hire
