Description

• Cloud Operations Engineer plays a pivotal role in overseeing and elevating day-to-day operations of MongoDB Atlas • This extends beyond routine tasks, encompassing strategic planning, active participation in technical discussions with internal teams, mentoring, and adeptly handling critical and escalated cases • Effective communication and stakeholder management, driving prompt resolution of incidents and building trust with FSI customers • Developing understanding of our FSI customer’s specific technologies, regulations, and policies to effectively address customer needs • Collaborating with teammates across our Customer Engineering organizations to ensure seamless handovers and cross-functional solutions for FSI customers • Coordinate and participate in a weekly on-call rotation, where you will handle short term customer incidents (proactively from automated monitoring or through reactive alerts via our Technical Services team) • Contributing to knowledge sharing and documentation of best practices, specializing in FSI customers • Help scale the worldwide Cloud Operations Engineering team with the strategic implementation and refinement of new processes and tools

Requirements

• Systems engineering experience, including Linux performance, memory management, I/O tuning, configuration, security, networking, clusters, and troubleshooting • Proficient in comprehensive issue analysis across application, database, and storage layers • Experience with at least one of the major cloud providers (Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure) • Experience in monitoring, system performance data collection and analysis, and reporting • Knowledge of database operations and concepts • Solid understanding of web and network protocols and standards (HTTP, TLS, DNS, etc) • Capability to write small programs/scripts to solve short-term systems problems in at least 1 of the following programming languages: Java, Go, Python, Javascript • Proficient in timely and effective communication with diverse stakeholders, both internal and external. Demonstrates the capacity to influence decisions and adeptly tailors communication style to align with the needs of the audience. • Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites during the working week when required • A keen interest in learning new things
