Description

• Assist with the lease accounting for a growing retail footprint (about 40+ new leases a year!), focusing on period-end closing and financial reporting • Prepare journal entries as an essential member of the monthly close process • Prepare essential leasing and fixed asset account reconciliations, including managing the leasing and fixed asset subledgers and associated reconciliations, as well as external software reconciliations • Review and analyze monthly operating expense activity and determine additional monthly accruals or required adjusting journal entries • Review and research invoices for capitalization consideration • Work closely with the Senior Accounting team to aid in income statement reporting, lead sheet analysis, and external financial reporting • Support leasing and fixed asset-related SOX controls • Support long-term accounting projects that will help improve monitoring and efficiency capabilities and grow our business • Provide ad-hoc analysis for the Accounting team and senior management • Aid in quarterly external audit requests for leases and fixed assets • Communicate with various teams regarding retail accounting inquiries

Requirements

• Backed by at least one year of general accounting experience within consumer products, retail, auditing, or another related industry • The proud owner of a Bachelor of Science in accounting or finance • A total Excel expert (keyboard shortcuts are your love language) • Eager to work in a fast-paced environment • Super serious about your work (without taking yourself too seriously) • A highly collaborative and communicative team player and self-starter willing to roll up your sleeves and get the job done • Highly organized and detail-oriented (improving and documenting processes is your bread and butter) • A dexterous multitasker who can prioritize several projects without losing focus • Positive, kind, and excited by a challenge
