Internship supporting tasks at a CPA firm during tax season.

• Prepare Finalized Reports (inclusive of financial statements and other working papers), as-needed
• Coordinate scheduling and a variety of communications with clients
• Assist with and learn how to prepare various tax returns for federal, state, and local entities
• Assist with the preparation of tax extensions, notices, and examinations/research for clients
• Assist with the review process of completed reports (formatting inconsistencies, templates, overall content, etc.)
• Assist with planning and performing financial and compliance audits in accordance with the appropriate
• Gain exposure to various accounting/tax preparation and filing software
• Shadow other staff/senior accountants to gain understanding and further exposure to a tax accountant's responsibilities
• Other jobs/duties, including administrative responsibilities, assigned by the tax Staff team

Intern assists with diversified accounting tasks at SingerLewak.

•Assists in recording transactions in ledgers, prepares trial balances and simple financial statements using computer software program.
•Assists in reconciling accounts to control accounts.
•Assists in performing schedule computations of accruals, property and equipment, and calculates depreciation expense.
•Assists in performing audit or review procedures as assigned by supervisors.
•Assists in preparation of payroll tax, sales or other local tax and certain personal income tax returns.
•Assists in performance of other accounting, auditing and tax duties as needed in engagements and as assigned by supervisory personnel.
•Assists in compiling workpapers and other accounting reports needed for audits.
