Description

• Manage and oversee the financial integration of acquired companies into Hootsuite, ensuring seamless consolidation of financial results. • Manage integration & consolidation team, including selection, coaching, mentoring, development, performance management, and all other people-management practices, including DE&I. • Partner with Hootsuite’s business technology team on the integration of financial systems, ensuring seamless data migration and system compatibility. • Collaborate with senior leaders in the development and implementation of a detailed integration plan to harmonize accounting policies and procedures across both companies. • Conduct integration-related change management activities to ensure smooth adoption of new processes and systems. • Collaborate with the accounting team to complete full-cycle accounting tasks, including preparing consolidation processes, journal entries, reconciliations, statements, analysis, and schedules. • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements in a complex, multi-currency environment under US GAAP and IFRS. Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements. • Lead the conversion of acquired companies’ financial statements (e.g., Luxembourg GAAP) to US GAAP. Provide technical accounting support on complex transactions, including M&A activities and intercompany arrangements. • Coordinate and synchronize the year-end closing processes for Hootsuite and acquired companies, ensuring timely and accurate consolidation of financial results. • Work with external accountants in preparation of legal entity financial statements and assist with statutory audits. • Contribute to the development, implementation, standardization, documentation, and improvement of processes. Identify opportunities to streamline and standardize accounting processes. • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Extensive relevant progressive accounting experience, including experience as an auditor for a public accounting firm. CPA Designation required. • Proven ability to manage complex projects to successful completion. Previous M&A experience is an asset. • Proficient knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS with the ability to research and propose company positions on complex accounting issues. • Commitment to Results: consistently achieves results, demonstrating high performance, and challenging self and others to deliver results. • Accountability: holds self and others accountable to meet commitments. • Problem Solving: uses an organized and logical approach to find solutions to complex problems.
